This is my own tribute to: Freddy Fender the "Bebop Kid" of the Texas-Mexico border who later turned his twangy tenor into the smash country ballad "Before the Next Teardrop Falls," died Saturday. He was 69.
Fender, who was diagnosed with lung cancer in early 2006, died at noon at his Corpus Christi home with his family at his bedside, said Ron Rogers, a family spokesman.
Freddie will be missed by many music lovers all over the world. His songs are still being played today by many bands and DJ's alike.
Some of my own very favorites are 'Wasted Days and Wasted Nights'. I can remember many a dances by many a fine young Gentlemen as they swept you across the dance floor. 'Before The Next Tear Drop Falls' oh yes that one brought out the bellyrubbers also. 'Roses Are Red My Love' one that the guys loved made the girls dance and hold just a little bit tighter. "Since I Met You Baby' oops here it comes did he really mean those words he sang in my ear as he was dancing with me. I can't much more about the memories of hearing him on those old records yes I said records thank God the remakes are now on Cd's so we don't have to hear the swishing. We will miss you Freddie! A Magaritta is tipped your way.

Yep, I tip a martini in his memory as well.
Ah.... Freddy, a great guy for sure, love his music.
Do I need a Champaign manager Paris? Geez, I don’t know, what am I running for? Think you could handle the job? I’m pretty complex and seem weird to others at times you know. Because I let everyone have a look at all the shit in my head. But I’m harmless and a hell of a lot of fun if a person knows how to stay loose. Or gets pissed off right along with me. LOL.. Hugs.
